Alternatively, a long black dress with long sleeves may be worn.

Shoes should be black and suitable for standing for long periods of time.

Ladies standing in the front row usually opt for a skirt or dress.

Corsages

These can vary according to the occasion; you will be informed by the concert manager which corsage you need to wear.

The Christmas corsages are in the form of a silver spray and are provided by the committee. These will be issued during dress rehearsal.

Corsages are worn on the left lapel and should face upwards.

GCOS music folder

Choir members are requested to use a black folder to hold their music during concerts. Please approach a committee member if you require a folder.

Seating

Seating is arranged according to voice part with each seat labelled accordingly. Please ensure you select a seat which matches your voice part during dress rehearsal and sit in the same seat for the concert.

Practice

If you are intending to sing in the concert it is important that you attend as many rehearsals as possible, especially the dress rehearsal and other rehearsals which include the orchestra.

You will find some helpful links for your voice part on the GCOS web page as well as U-tube if you want to practice at home.

Day of the concert

Please arrive at least 20 minutes before the concert starts, this will allow time for any last minute briefing from the conductor, attaching your corsage, putting your music in order and lining up to walk on stage.
